East Tennessee Diving and Exploration originally started off as a Civilian Volunteer Dive Team called East Tennessee Diving and Recovery. In 2022 East Tennessee Diving and Recovery was renamed to East Tennessee Diving and Exploration. Renaming the Team was based on our switch from a Recovery Team to more of a Exploration Team. From 2018 to 2021 the team was the only civilian recovery dive team for items such as Cell Phones and Glasses and other small to medium sized items within the Knoxville, Tennessee Area. East Tennessee Diving and Exploration became a LLC in 2025 when the owner/founder started teaching scuba classes. Formally renamed DIVE TENNESSEE in 2026. In April 2026, Dive Tennessee was approved to lease retail space from Medford Volunteer Fire Department in Rocky Top, Tennessee off Lake City Highway.
